Finally, I can introduce to you another gem of the Northern Ghanaian Savannah Region. The rare Baobab OIl has the following properties:
It is especially rich in vitamins, of unsaponifiable matter and should have powerful antioxidant effects. Baobab Oil is an excellent source of vitamins; it is soothing, healing and regenerating the cells. It is very stable and has a long shelf life.Try the following applications:
• Skin: It is absorbed by the skin very fast; against dry skin and aging skin, helps with sunburn; baobab is suitable for oil mixtures ans serves as a stabilizing component. • Scalp: Gives sheen to dry hair. • Hands: Strengthens brittle nails. • Body: The oil forms the basis for an oil massage, which is called the African massage or Baobab massage. As a massage oil, it revives the tired body.
NEEW: Read our interview with our Baobab Oil producer Madame Kutuma:
How do you get the oil out of the Baobab seeds? It is a several step process and most of it is pressing by hand and simple tools.
Do you use any heat? No, not at all.
For how long have you been doing the Baobab Oil?
I cannot give direct figures but I have been doing it for approximately 30 years.
To our clients what usage would you recommend for this oil? First: You can use it for soap making. Second: You can use it for your body as pomade. Third: You can use it for cooking.
If you use it for food/pomade what are its effects?
For the body it makes your body very smooth; it can recover your skin after a rash. If you have ear pain it can heal the wound inside. It can solve stomach disorders if you us it as food.
In addition do you want to say 2-3 sentences to your clients?
Baobab Oil serves for medical purposes, so you do not have to take chemical drugs. Instead of chemical pomade this Baobab Oil is natural as I do not add anything to it.
...enjoy.
